No, they are not.

Maltodextrins are plant-based ingredients derived from natural European crops such as wheat, potatoes and maize. Maltodextrins are obtained by partially hydrolysing the starch extracted from these crops, a process that uses water and enzymes to break down the long molecule-chains slightly and making the starch soluble.
